The subject of work and field of application
Rules governing the quality of testing laboratories LPO.402.01 (hereinafter: Rules of quality), with the accompanying documentation (procedures, instructions and records), as the basic document defines the management system of the Testing Laboratory (hereinafter Laboratory), as an independent organizational unit of the Institute of Forestry from Belgrade (hereinafter: the Institute).
The laboratory established, maintains and will develop its own management system in accordance with the SRPS ISO / IEC 17025: 2006 standard General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
The laboratory performs testing in the fields of:
• entomology,
• phytopathology,
• phytopharmacy,
• genetics,
• seed production,
• plant physiology,
• soil science
The laboratory establishes cooperation with other external laboratories for investigation in similar fields. Cooperation is achieved through joint projects, development and exchange of testing methods, inter-laboratory comparative testing and the like. The laboratory participates in the international interlaboratory comparison of laboratory testing for the purpose of the “Convention on long-range transboundary air pollution international co-operative programme on assessment and monitoring of air pollution effects on forests and european union scheme on the protection of forests against atmospheric pollution”.
The strategic aim of the Laboratory is to constantly raise the quality of examination services and meet the requirements and expectations of users, within a reasonable time frame and at minimal costs, while respecting all regulations and standards of testing, as well as the rules of business ethics, constantly satisfying internationally established criteria for the operation of testing laboratories in accordance with the standards SRPS ISO / IEC 17025: 2006.
By achieving its aims the Laboratory intends to:
• keep and enhance the reputation in this country and abroad,
• constantly improve the professional and educational level of all employees through the acquisition of academic degrees and continuous training for the performance of their duties / tasks.
The reaching of established aims of the Laboratory is encouraged through:
• an establishment of a documented management system which ensures that all operations are carried out in accordance with documented procedures and instructions;
• keeping up with and application of international practice in the field of testing methods and measuring / testing equipment;
• maintenance and control of measuring and testing equipment, through a development and implementation of calibration plans, maintenance and inspection of measuring and testing equipment;
• defining of the responsibility and authority for all tasks;
• improvement of the educational level of employees (training, professional development);
• constant help provided to employees for scientific advancement (acquiring titles, publishing papers, books and the like.);
• internal audits of the established system of management and implementation of corrective and preventive measures in all areas of the laboratory.
